The war forces many of the designers to work within the warindustry. Instead of designing furniture, work is concentrated on forming different products for the defense industry, often in new materials. This leads to a decline in the production of designer furniture up to 1945, nut herafter production rises again due to experiences drawn from the war.

On the "stool-of-the 40īs", I have empasized the sense of function and new materials so characteristic for the decade. Inspiration comes from Charles och Ray Eames, Bruno Mathsson, Hans J. Wegner and Gerrit T. Rietveld.
