This decade
is hard to define, perhaps because the interest for designing is rather
cool. Traditional scace-memphis might be an apropriate description.
Ergonomical
design pares way and the designers start adapting their products to the
co-existence of the human- being and her tool. The colors are dominated
by powerful down-to-earth range of colors. The materials are mixed but
leather becomes frequent.
I have chosen
to be inspired by the more traditional forms with Rud Thygesen, Johnny
Srensen, Gijs Bakker and Achille Castiglioni, but must I personify the
stool it would be like John Travolta in the movie "Saturday Night Fever. |
